Spears plans to tour again

October 1, 2008

Britney Spears said she plans to make her first international tour since 2004 to support her new album, “Circus.”

In an interview broadcast yesterday on New York radio station Z100, Spears was asked if she planned to tour.

“Oh definitely, next year,” she said, adding the tour would probably take her “around the world.”

That would mark her first major concert tour since 2004.

JANET JACKSON HOSPITALIZED

A representative for Janet Jackson says the singer has been hospitalized after falling ill shortly before a concert.

According to a statement released by W&W Public Relations, the singer, 42, canceled her concert in Montreal yesterday after she “got suddenly ill” during her sound check and had to be rushed to the hospital just before show time.

The statement said Jackson is being monitored at the hospital and hopes to reschedule the show. No further information was given about her condition.

ED McMAHON IS SUED

Court documents show a company founded by Merv Griffin is suing Ed McMahon for a $100,000 loan it claims has gone unpaid.

The Griffin Group Inc. said it loaned the money to McMahon, Johnny Carson's sidekick on the “Tonight” show, in 2005. The company filed the suit Thursday and said that none of the loan has been repaid.

McMahon's publicist didn't directly address the lawsuit, instead asking, “Anybody wanna buy a nice house in The Summit?”

The quote is an allusion to McMahon's home, which is facing foreclosure. The former pitchman faces other lawsuits filed on behalf of creditors.
